The Heated Swimming Pool

The recently completed ‘Bermuda’ style contemporary swimming pool, with its soft curved corners, is set in the gardens at Haute Faye, with magnificent views across the gentle rolling Charente countryside to the chateau at Villebois-Lavalette.

The pool is 8 metres long x 4 metres wide, with a depth in the middle of 1.50 metres, and 1 10 metre around the sides.  It is ideal both for adults who enjoy swimming, and those who are not confident in the water.

There is a wide paved area all around, with balustrades at one end, making an impressive surround to the pool. Sun loungers and seating are provided.

A beautiful tiled shelter gives shade from the sun, shelter from the breeze and a place to have a quiet read with a cold drink.

All safety arrangements, required by law in France, are in place, i.e. an alarm with a siren placed on the wall of the cottage. Instructions as to use are provided on arrival at the cottage.

The swimming pool at Haute Faye is now heated from April until October so that it is at a constant temperature of 28 degrees. In other words, it is always very easy to get into!

In order to protect the liner of the pool from damage, and yourselves, we do however ask that no glass is brought within the area of the pool.

The pool is about 20 metres from the Haute Faye holiday cottage, 30 metres from the main house and apartment.

The pool is occasionally shared i.e it is available for the occupants of the holiday cottage, and the proprietors.
